21 Years

This day 21 years ago, Stacy and I and our friends Mary and Roger went up to Tokyo where Stacy and I got married in a ward office.  We went to the US embassy to get the document certified.  After the paperwork was sorted we ate Chinese.  We start our 22nd year together.

Molly treated Stacy and me to breakfast at IHOP.  MMM.  We ate Swedish crepes with lingonberry butter and lingonberries. After a nap we cleaned house and organized clutter. Today was a nice day all around.

Sunday Off Work

I slept in.  Stacy had to work today.  About 1-ish I ate a Reuben sandwich at a pizza joint.  I met up with Billy at the flying Saucer about 2-ish.  By 3: 15 we had ten scoots ready to ride.  We took the back roads to Shake Rag.  We stayed there a couple of hours and then seven scoots came home with me.  We ate our picnic lunches and chatted for an hour or so.  A nice day all around.

Off for Two Days in a Row

Schweet!  Sunday Stacy and I vacuumed out the mess at the bottom of the pool.  We put a hose in the pool to replace the water we were expelling over the side of the pool.  After the mess was gone we added more chlorine tabs to the floating dispenser and sprinkled 6-in-1 shock on top of the water to burn up what was stirred up.  Now the water sparkles.

Monday, I worked at getting flash to play nice with my sound card.  Ubuntu! This is unacceptable.  I also registered as a "Ubuntu People for Obama" person.

Last night was spent working on the 1958 Vespa VBA1T orange scooter.  I adjusted the mix to 3% and it runs smoother.  The headset was very sloppy so I looked into that problem.  There is a $2.40 tabbed washer missing.  I tightend the headset ring and put the handle bars back on the scoot.  Then I fiddled with the front brake cable.  I now have a bit more front brake.

My test ride was awesome!  I did the twisties on Fite Rd. at 40+ mph.  Today I’d like to get my handheld GPS unit and see the exact topend mph.

Cheers, y’all

A day off

I was off today and I worked like heck around the house.  The first job was the stinkiest, washing my camping clothes and putting away my gear.

Then I had to open the pool for the season. Hard frigging work that.

Then I moved furniture for our room mate.

Then I mowed the back acre.

I decided to have some fun with a twilight helmet-less ride on the 58 VBA. The lil orange scooter fired up on the fourth kick.  I haven’t kicked it over since May.  The scooter runs peppy in first and second but bogs down in third.  The headset is very sloppy and it has Fred Flintstone brakes.  My, but it was a fun ride.

It was a great day not to be at work.

Cheers
