Sunday

This morning I woke up feeling pretty good after my workout yesterday.  I went out to my shop and cleaned and straightened it up.  Then I swept out the garage.  Next, I aired the tires on the Bachetta Strada recumbent road bike.  The Bachetta is much easier to pedal than the Cannondale recumbent bicycle.  If the cool weather holds I’d like to go on a long ride on the Bachetta tomorrow.  I’m thinking of riding 13 miles to physical therapy and then 13 miles home.

There is an organized ride over the Big Dam Bridge next weekend.

My doc let me get out of wearing my shoulder immobilizer rig.  My physical therapy is going well.  I still have a lot of pain and discomfort but I don’t have to take any narcotic pain suppressors.  I still tire easily.  I am trying to be more active each day.-

Yesterday,  I got the Cannondale recumbent bicycle out tof the shed and made it road worthy.  That bit of effort tired me out but I really wanted to go for a ride.  I filled two stainless steel water bottles and headed out.  At about the two mile mark there is a steep and long hill.  I stopped to get a drink of water.  I must have drank too fast as I started to hurl.  I turned around and went the two miles back home where I did it again.

I cleaned up and relaxed for a bit and then I got mad.  I got back on the bike and I had a wonderful 22 mile ride through the forest. There was much huffing and puffing up the hills but it felt wonderful.  I did 26 miles for the day.  Dang, that felt good.
